What is Borosilicate Glass
Borosilicate glass is a type of glass that contains boron trioxide. This additive allows for a very low coefficient of thermal expansion which means the glass will not crack under extreme temperature 🌡️  changes like regular glass. Its durability makes it the glass of choice when quality glass is needed. Such as in high-end restaurants, laboratories & wineries 🍷. 

Just like regular glass, Borosilicate glass is completely non-toxic.
In the past companies like Pyrex used it as a safe material to make heat-resistant glass jugs, glass bottles, & cookware. 

So is Borosilicate glass unbreakable? No, it is known for its low thermal expansion & high resistance to thermal & chemical stress, but it can still break or crack if it is exposed to excessive force or extreme temperatures 🥵.

  • Brittleness | While Borosilicate glass is relatively strong, it can be relatively brittle & can break or shatter under stress or impact, just like any glass.
